FC Barcelona Lassa fall to KS Kielce, for second European defeat
FC Barcelona - KS Kielce 31:33 (19:16)
FC Barcelona Lassa fell by a score of 33:31 to Kielce on match day nine of the EHF. Despite the loss, Barça continue to lead Group B pending the outcome of the Rhein-Neckar Lowen v Szeged match. The defeat was Barça's first at home in European competition since 18 February 2012 when they fell 30:29 to Zagreb.
Barça actually led 19:16 at halftime, but stumbled out of the block after the break. The Polish side stepped up the defensive pressure while managing to score with ease. Kielce drew even at 22:22 in the 38th minute, and then scored three more times over the next five minutes to take a 25:22 lead. The Catalans managed to tie things back up at 31:31 with four minute left, but when Viran Morros was excluded, Bielecki scored from seven metres and Lijewski rounded off the scoring to put the game into the win column for the visitors.
